100% Nebbiolo (planted from 1979 to 1981).
Winemaking Team Notes: "Founder Giovanni Rinaldi established the winery and cellar in the highly regarded Barolo Cannubi region. The winery was named for Giovanni's youngest son Francesco after he took over sole charge of the estate from his brothers in 1922. Francesco's granddaughters took over in the 1990s, expanding the winery's commercial markets internationally.
Historical inter-municipal vineyard among the most representative of the municipalities of Barolo and La Morra. It boasts an excellent exposure to the south, south-east with an altitude ranging from 250 to 350 meters in the central part of the sub-area. The soil has a predominantly silt-clay composition and the lower amount of sand gives elegant aromas with fruity and spicy notes.
Fermentation is carried out in thermo-conditioned steel tanks with automatic pumping over systems for a period of 25 – 30 days. The refinement, which lasts at least three years, takes place in large-capacity Slavonian oak barrels (5,000 litres).
Tasting Notes: The taste is dry, austere, flavorful and harmonious, with good concentrations of phenolic compounds due to a significant amount of microelements such as potassium and magnesium."
