95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.
Ultraviolet is the side project of up-and-coming winemaker Samantha Sheehan (POE Wines, Mommenpop Spirits). Her goal with Ultraviolet is to craft quality California wines (quality vineyard sources, no additives other than a judicious amount of sulfur) that are still affordable.
The Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the Red Hills AVA located east of St. Helena, at the base of a volcano (1500 feet of elevation). The Cabernet Franc comes from the Coombsville, Napa AVA. Both sites are farmed organically, the wine is aged in all neutral oak, and aside from small amounts of sulfur there are no additions.
Plump and juicy, with notes of black cherry, blueberry, and hints of pepper and cedar.
