R Burgundy, Cote De Nuis Villages, Chapuis Freres, 2021

Availability: In stock

"Brothers Romain and Jean-Guillaume come from a wine making family in Aloxe-Corton. In 2009, they created their own domaine, Chapuis Frères. Based in Ladoix-Serrigny, the brothers now also have a side project ‘Chapuis et Chapuis,’ in which they are making natural wines from Burgundy, from both their family organically-farmed vineyards, located throughout the region. They do not use any sulfur, and their wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered.

Grapes are harvested by hand and left whole-cluster. 15 day maceration. Primary fermentation in stainless steel tank using native yeasts only. The wine then ages for 11 months in 75% old oak (15% new oak).

Notes of black cherry, forest floor, blood orange, black raspberry, juicy red plum, a hint of smoke, and subtle baking spices. Plump, ripe fruit and a refreshing core of minerality."
